A Holistic Quest

For Manasi Bhagwat, Shakti Natural Nutrition’s founder and director, Ayurveda, the ancient science of healing and wellness, was indeed ingrained and natural for her as she grew up in a small farming town in India:  sustainable living, locally grown nutrition, mindful practices  and holistic wellness are simply a way of life:

For example, snacking on freshly picked Amla (Gooseberries), using Turmeric as an antiseptic for minor wounds, and cooking with and dining on banana leaves are as common as eating chips, using “first aid” sprays, and plastic bags are  for others. Further, Ayurvedic herbs/blends, seasonal or specific foods  (called pathya), and mindful rest are used to treat everyday, common illnesses and  combinations of yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic herbal formulations under the guidance of a vaidya (ayurvedic doctor) are used for chronic health problems.

As fate would have it, Manasi went on to graduate as an Aerospace engineer from the country’s finest engineering school and after working on fighter jets for a while, she immigrated to the Unites States with her life's love and husband, Rishi.

While working in high-tech was exciting, Manasi’s passion for holistic wellness never faded,  and she realized it was her karma to spread the wisdom of Ayurveda and its potential to transform lives to a wider audience.

The seeds were planted and in 2015, Shakti Natural Nutrition was born !
